Matt the Electrician visited the Paste studio on July 25, accompanied by backup musicians Seela and Stephanie. The Austin-based folk artist performed three songs off of his new record. The Doubles, which was released last month. MTE's set started off with the harmonic "Mountains," followed by "California," a song about the musician's birthplace and concept of home. The trio ended the set with "American Tune," a cover of the patriotic and hopeful song by Paul Simon.
