Concert Summary

Throughout their monumental career, the Grateful Dead established a tradition of ringing in the New Year by performing in San Francisco, with only one exception. The 1969/70 New Year concerts were on the East coast, with New Year's eve at Boston's famed Tea Party venue, followed by a run of four shows at the Fillmore East on January 2 and 3, 1970, with Cold Blood and Lighthouse.

Why is it that people like you are bitchin' about the sound quality. Enjoy these performances for what they are and get over it. If you don't like the mix, find somewhere else that has this show. Now sit back and enjoy the music.

Only for the true Dead Heads. Gr8fulDad understates the sound - it sucks. There are so many other great recordings from this era around. But the band is,as always, amazing.

Historical performance. Too bad the sound quality is not better. It seems like all instruments are there and clear - just not mixed at the right levels.
