Concert Summary

This live recording by Genesis was a landmark King Biscuit Flower Hour appearance because it marked the first time the band had been heard on a national broadcast with its new line-up, after the departure of lead singer Peter Gabriel. The band had toured for over a year between 1974 and 1975, performing 103 shows on the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway tour knowing the whole time that Gabriel would be departing to focus on his new family and to launch a solo career. The band had pleaded with Gabriel not to go public…entire summary

I go back along way with this band. You cannot compare Gab's and Collins together. They both are magical. The both of them have inspire me. It has been an honor to have both of these individuals perform their music for us, the fans.

Best version of the final section of all time, drum-wise. Phil keeps it tight and heavy while Bill adds a bit of funk to the proceedings and gets away with it! Their fills are killer as well...

Bruford on drums .... hmmmmm. Does a good job but not as musical a drummer as Phil. Listen carefully. Phil Collins is probably the most underated drummer in rock EVER!

Incredible to hear this and other mid to late 70's Genesis concerts. love Phils voice! seems softer then later years. Musicianship is phenomenal. Come back with Gabriel and Hackett and show the world what an incredible band you are.

I'd imagine the band were livid with Bill's little groove during the incidental passages. According to "Chapter & Verse" he was something of a rebel -- messing w/ the group's measures here and there. Of course it's refreshing to us; a fantastic "White Mountain" by the way. I never knew they performed this awesome piece that late into their career. And while Peter's vocal majesty is missed, Phil handles himself quite well, and truth is even Invisible Touch has certain compositional moments.

I saw Genesis on this tour 13 June 1976 in London at the Hammersmith Apollo, with slide show and Suppers Ready and most of T.O.T.T.absolutely awesome,it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.I was also lucky enough to see them in Stafford at the Bingley Hall 10 July 1976 this was without doubt one of my top 3 gigs ever. While in Stafford i stayed in a hotel over night in the town center and it was called THE VINE,hows that for a coincidence.
