This is the electric set on the fifth night of the legendary six-night run at the Fillmore East. The Four Way Street live album contains recordings from this run. This entire run of shows capture CSNY hot on the heels of success from the recently released Deja Vu LP and was during the group’s most prolific phase, as all four were working on solo albums that would soon define them as individual artists.

Hey, Anonymous: Another great tale from Graham's book! (The "Fantastic Four" should have purchased a new rug for Ravi Shankar with the money!) Great contribution, Senor Lobo! As one epic song states: "And they really came together when 'mom' (drummer Johnny Barbata and bassist Calvin Samuels) came along!"

This may have been the night when Bill Graham resorted to posting $100 bills under the locked dressing room door, to get the band to come out and play another encore. According to Graham Nash :"We felt F*** Bill. We just wanted to smoke a joint and relax...so under the dressing room door came a $100 bill, followed by another, followed by another one. We were smoking and looking at these $100 bills coming under the door. Neil picked one up . He said " More, Bill". Finally $800 came under the door. For us to do another encore. What Neil wanted to do was take the $800 and go back out and throw the 800 bucks into the audience.I said Neil this is New York. People will get killed in the stampede. So sanity prevailed. (In other words they kept the money) The quote is from Bill Graham's book "My life inside rock and outside" page 317-318
