Recorded just a few weeks after the release of his first album, Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ, and about seven months before the release of his sophomore disc, The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle, this historic performance is one of the earliest professional recordings of the Boss and his legendary E Street Band, who are heard here in their original line-up. It was recorded as part of the first installment of the King Biscuit Flower Hour syndicated radio show, which aired on February 18, 1973.     I happenned to be at this show by accident. My buddies had heard of Bruce and dragged me along. Mad Dog Lopez was the drummer then. He played another gig there about 4 months later which totally rocked the place out. Rosalita, Kittys Back and the whole set consisted of the two discs he had out at the time.     Beautiful clear recording! Bless the engineer on this. If you didn't pick up on Bruce until Born to Run, you might not appreciate this - but it's brilliant!!! Bruce can write/tell/sing stories that are exhilarating. This is Bruce's street poet phase. The band is low key compared to the full tilt R&R they pumped out later.
