Liner Notes

The way that Majke Voss Romme writes and sings, under the name Broken Twin, we can't help but feeling that things are going to get better from here on in. The tracks have not been so set that our wheels cannot shift in them or stray from their trenches entirely. Her voice and tone is that of someone who has shivered through some awful grayness, but there are streaks of light shattering the darkest hues, causing these slight, but notable moments of inspiration -- where the spirits aren't so soggy, where the clouds are lifting. She never takes us to the cheery peaks that we'd like to get to, but they seem to be there off into the distance. We're confident of this, if for no other reason that for the belief in resiliency. We just knock on another door. We see if they have any sugar.
